Mystical Chi
Tell us about your current business. What do you offer, how long you’ve been there, size of your business?
I have a business called Mystical Chi offering reiki, crystal healing, aromatherapy, massage, access bars and workshops. I sell crystals, oracle cards, candles, singing bowls, jewellery and more!
I am currently located in the cascade walk arcade, Nelson Bay, but due the impact of Covid, I will be closing my shop and moving to online trading, local markets and expos. I will also be offering mobile services and delivery to local residents.
On a good day what do you love most about being in business?
I love my business. I started it from scratch and I’ve learnt a lot a long the way. If you don’t try you won’t know.
What has been the biggest hurdle you have had to overcome as a woman in business?
Negative comments from certain men saying that a woman can’t run a business on their own.... Well I can!
In terms of you and your business, what are you most proud of?
I was able to create a wonderful small business on my own. With many challenges along the way.
What strategies do you use to try and keep a work/life balance?
At the end of the day I go for a swim in my pool or walk on the beach, meditate or make my dream catchers.
What do you love about being a business woman in Port Stephens?
I love Port Stephens. The area has a wonderful energy. I love attending PSWIB networking events to mix with other local business women.
What do you enjoy doing when you don’t have your business hat on?
I enjoy painting, making dream catchers and wands, spending time with friends and walking along the beach.
If you could give one piece of advice to a woman heading into the business world, what would it be?
Do your research when it comes to suitability of location of your business. Advertising and marketing is a must.
